At the center of the mesmerizing rolling fields, dwelt a shepherd boy. His life was untarnished, simple, and honest. His primary duty was essentially to care for his herd of rams.
Their low murmuring and the rustling of the breezes through the single tree on the peak were his constant co-dwellers. Day in day, guarding his charges imbued in him a feeling of calm satisfaction.

The boy laughed at the confusion on their faces. This game laughed for a couple of more days. Yet, one morning, a real wolf actually attack the flock. The shepherd boy ran for help, shouting “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one showed up.
Frustrated and alone, the boy battled against the wolf but managed to rescue only few of his flock. Devastated, he returned to the town only to be met with a reprimand on honesty and the repercussions of false alarms.
The story of this shepherd boy has been passed down generations as a mediaeval parable for teaching the significance of honesty, the implications of dishonesty and the risks of false alarms. Moreover, it stresses how trust once violated, is hard to reclaim. It's a story as appropriate today as it was in the past.
